A 17th century high back chair, walnut and studded leather *

A 17th century high back chair, walnut and studded leather. This chair came from an estate farm clearance near Dollar last year, it would make a great decorators piece in the right house. It has loose spars because the glue has dried after three hundred of years, the leather is heavily embossed with animals and birds also the Jacobite Rose. These chairs became popular with the Scottish nobility after Charles II married Catherine of Breganza a Portuguese princess when she brought her belongings over.
